Ludwig Senfl (1486(?)-1543(?)) was one of the great early masters of music in Europe. Born in Basel or Zurich he worked abroad, mainly in the Italian city of Florence and in the German cities of Augsburg and Munich. In the latter city he died. Many of his compositions, both secular and religious, maybe considered exemplary models of their kind. They contributed greatly to the enrichment of music in the first half of the 16th century.
